AQIA: E-Learning Platform

AQIA wanted an e-learning platform as part of their new website, where they could host a series of paid and free courses for members.

We built an easy-to-navigate e-learning platform using Moodle, which allows you to both host your own courses and external courses on a simple dashboard.

The e-learning platform was an immediate success, with 5000 people signing up for the COVID course so that sporting clubs could safely reopen.

Chelsea Roffee: E-Learning Course

The first-ever female AFL umpire, Chelsea Roffee knows a thing or two about diversity in sport.

She came to us to create an e-learning course that would help sporting clubs and organisations to attract and retain greater diversity. We built the course using Articulate 360.

It is available on the AQIA e-learning platform we built, and Chelsea also sells this course on an additional external platform. We build it, you use it where you like!

Meat and Livestock Australia: E-Learning Course Content

MLA approached us to create three e-learning courses for people in the cattle production system.

We created a course on antimicrobial resistance, a series of how-to guides on feedlot techniques, and one on cattle autopsy best practice.

The resulting e-learning content was highly informative and largely video-based, with interactive activities to keep learners engaged.

    For many people, these are considered the same thing, and in truth, there is a great deal of overlap between e-Learning and online learning.

    Let’s take a common example. Students who did home learning during lockdowns were engaged in online learning. They logged in to platforms together over the internet, having face-to-face interactions on platforms such as Zoom. They used online tools for learning, such as an online curriculum, and virtual conferencing software.

    E-learning uses digital tools, but while there can be ‘live’ interactive sessions like webinars and conferences incorporated into the courses, learners can work on the materials at their own pace rather than being logged in simultaneously.

    Some people are not tech savvy. Some of your learners will not be particularly computer literate. So that’s something you will need to build into your e-learning solution so that you can walk your learners through the process. These platforms are very easy to navigate once you start!

     

    Some people will always prefer face-to-face learning. Some people like to be able to ask questions immediately, and get immediate answers. So you’ll need to have some way of answering queries, preferably in real time. 

     

    Some people struggle with the motivation with e-learning. This is a common problem with e-learning, but in truth, many of your learners may also struggle with motivation in a classroom! What works for some people, does not work for others. You can limit this downside by building a really interesting course with gamification and great design. Break down the course into small parts so people are rewarded by finishing modules regularly, and make sure you get data on finish rates and get participants to check in regularly.

    A learning Management System (LMS) is the platform the e-learning courses exist within. 

    The LMS is the place where the courses live, collects the data on its users, and manages their learning.
